TutorialsAccessible Design. Not sure what web accessibility is all about? This section features introductory WAC tutorials, covering the basics in accessible design practices, a guide to the best practices in accessible and usable design, and other overview tutorials designed to quickly get you up-to-speed. Flash: Accessibility and Flash are not always easily compatible concepts. In this section, you'll find resources from our WAC workshop on Flash accessibility, including a PowerPoint presentation, the White Paper from Bob Regan of Macromedia, guidelines from W.C.A.G. 1.0 and more. Forms: Several tutorials walk you through designing accessible HTML forms and discuss issues of forms and the OSU Standards, creating accessible forms with FrontPage, and those tricky navigation elements: the Jump Menu. JavaScript: In this section, you'll find WebAIM's detailed introduction to accessible uses of JavaScript, as well as a collection of articles and discussion about accessible uses of JavaScript. Macromedia: Users of Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Flash will want to stay up-to-date with the accessibility features in these web design and development tools. Our resources offer you quick links to the available Macromedia tutorials and guides. PDF: Should you publish your documents in PDF, HTML, or both? Is one better than the other? How can you make your PDF documents more accessible? Guides cover how to use PDF and meet the OSU standards, how to create accessible PDF, and when to offer alternate formats besides PDF. Section 508: OSU programs and affliiates should work to meet the OSU Minimum Web Accessibility Standards. These standards are based in large part on the Section 508 Standards for Electronic and Information Technology, part 1194.22: Web-based Intranet and Internet Information and Applications. This WAC guide walks you through parts a-p of 1194.22, including detailed instructions for how to achieve compliance for each part. Tips & Tricks: Have questions about other topics like XHTML, keyboard accessibility, and menu tabs? This section includes articles and resources to help you find accessible solutions to your web design projects.. WebAIM: Want to get up-to-speed on the key issues in web accessibility? Take advantage of this extensive collection of WebAIM tutorials, republished with permission. Included here are tutorials on dynamic content, forms, frames, navigation, page layout and more.
